Buddy battled this Corn Fed Yakima Squafish for some time on the 490 XP. He put up quite a fight but was eventually boated and his genetic code erased from Yakima River ecosystem forever.

So does every other predatory fish in the river. Squawfish and salmonids coexisted for millions of years without a problem. People used to kill dollies because they thought they ate juvenile salmon. How is killing a squawfish any different?

its taco time. wheres the sauce?
face it everyone, the majority of fly fishers tend to view any member of the salmonid family on a higher hierarchical level than any other species, so based on that, it seems to be the trend that any "other" species that poses a threat to them is viewed as an "enemy", and dealt with accordingly. just mention fly fishing for carp to any trout fisherman. talk about a fish that requires a flawless presentation and puts up a phenomenal fight. if it swims, throw a fly at it!

There have not been Dams for millions of years that have allowed squaws to ambush salmonids. I still have a hard time grasping killing a native of any kind though.

The Game department was paying people to kill them last year or the year before that, maybe they still are. They are spreding through trout streams and gobbling young fish. They are garbage.

I've been known to fish from time to time...
Those piece of shit fish deserve to die. Anything that negatively affects my salmon, trout, or steelhead fishing needs to be dealt with.

    Down in the Centennial State.
Is it the WDFW with the bounties or the BPA? I know in the lower Columbia the BPA has the bounty on them.
