    Tim's Carp on a Fly

After his second morning of fishing, Tim managed to pick up his first carp on a fly rod. He's a lefty, but since his rod was still in Colorado he had to use my gear and ended up fighting the fish with the opposite hand. He's a natural to be sure. After casting to fish for what seemed like an eternity, he was almost certain that catching carp on a fly was near impossible. After that first "take" however, the experience became undeniably real and a new carp angler was born.

Oh yes, they're definitely out. There is a lot of spawning behavior right now so the majority of the fish don't seem interested in a fly, but there is always the occasional "lone ranger" looking to feed.
