Do a little reading on progressive vs. regressive taper design. In two handed rods I wouldn't hesitate to send you to Bob Meiser. One handed? I've been out of that world a LONG time. Maybe Anderson Custom Rods? They both charge less than sage in most cases. Burkheimer if the sky is the limit. I'd just pick up that redington you talked about liking. Otherwise this could get very expensive. As you know, the current fashion is not in your preferred direction. Have you cast some old Scott and Winstons?

I was hoping i could bother you for some advice on rods ?

Like my orvis - sage thread indicates i'm having a hell of a problem finding a rod to fit the full flex feel , most rods i have tested of these days seem to have light tips and give the seperation feel to me when i test them beings the tips are light and the mid and lower sections have all the beef !

I CAST with my tip leading the way , i notice the full flex rods have larger tips so the flex goes all the way through the rod blank . which of the companies have this build in their rods , companies i'm looking at are -

    sage - gloomis - and maybe a winston .
