doesn't look like much, but this buggy pattern has always absolutely crushed it for me on the Deschutes stonefly hatch. Once I started using bucktail (the super hollow base) for the wings, I started skipping the hackle since I found it just wasn't necessary. They never last super long, but considering how fast and easy they are to tie plus how well they work, I don't mind so much.

Easier to incorporate the hackle and deer hair in a composite dubbing loop.

hook - Dai Riki 300 #10
thread - Danville 6/0 brown
tail - moose body
rib - tying thread
body - elk hair
wing - Congo Hair white
collar - deer hair/hen brown (loop dubbed)
