Carey Special

Hook - S82-3906B, size 8-14

Originated in the Northwest around 1925 by Dr Day and Col Carey and was originally thought to be tied bear hair for the tail and body (as tied above).

After a hiatus, tying some super simple tubes for Pinks...doubles as a Kokanee fly.
These days, simple presentations keep me happy.
These also work well with my Trailer Park Spey technique.

Dude, I always love your weird flies. Always creative and pushing boundaries of the norm. Dare I say artistic. Hope you get a few big buck humpies on those.

Many thanks!
Tradition is great but the true magic is in the adventure of inspiration.

Working on some soft hackles. Not sure of the difference between a spider and a smut, more reading to do. Got some in black, Partridge and orange, and beadhead softhackle hairs ears too. Some for me and some to send to zen leecher. 20210726_121356.jpg 20210726_121432.jpg
