A better pic of what I'm calling a mega-comet. Basically an over-sized version of one of my favorite low-water salmon flies. The primary mods over a standard comet (other than size and relative length of materials) being a clear vinyl rib over lateral-scale body, and lead eyes instead of bead chain.
Any excuse to play with weird colours and concepts. After my murky water experience on the Canal for SRC, this came out of the vice.
A dark purple and black, articulated "sculpin" with some red beads on mono for a little sound activity.
We shall see
I really dig the combo of Gama C14S #6 and a 23mm Senyo Microshank. Much versatility!
I've tied a few Shih Tzu and Lab patterns. Now I occasionally use dubbing salvaged from the dryer lint trap when I launder Hank's fuzzy dog blankets. It comes-out kind of gray with gold/green/brown highlights and a smattering of white & dark brown guard hairs in it.
