Not Puget Sound but in the strait, fishing for ling cod and rock fish. In 35' of water with light gear, was an ass kicker!

Beautiful morning. Had the beach mostly to myself, there was a photographer 100 yards south of me. No fish, no hits, but there were a few good sized ones out there 150+ feet, splashing and rolling. 90 minutes and then the creek gear washing.

Found a few cutts willing to chase down a topwater sandlance pattern yesterday in the sunshine.
As predicted after all the recent encounters with beaches teeming with bait, this bigger guy was fat!

Found some searuns crashing bait today as well. There is a LOT of bait out there. Also about a gazillion 6" long coho. Just need to find some bigger coho now. Got my buddy his first fish on a fly rod about 10 minutes after a casting lesson on the boat! Even hooked a toad of a cutthroat that he ended up losing but he will still remember forever.
