Fun day on the water today. (W)…ind wasn't as bad as forecast. Fished three beaches. Didn't see anyone else fishing. Tide never really moved the water.
Beach one yielded three fish. I lost one jumbo there. Also had a first time experience in the salt. I've had bulls, browns and cutts try to eat smaller fish I have hooked up while fishing rivers. I've also had bigger cutts follow hooked fish in while fishing the salt, but never try to eat them.
I hooked up a small cutt. I was stripping it in across the surface. At the rod tip it dove down then the rod buried. Soon I had a jumbo cutt thrashing on the surface at the rod tip with the little cutt in its mouth. A few seconds later, both were gone. I hope it enjoyed its meal. Might need to tie up a first year salt cutt gurgler pattern.
Beach two yielded nothing and was filled up with leaves, sticks and branches from all the wind we've had.
Beach three yielded three cutts. There was a small rip that formed and filled up with leaves and other debris. Of course a big yellow butter ball jumped right in the middle of it. Multiple casts into the area resulted in multiple leaves landed.
One last thing. Hey
@wadin' boot …
Which would be your preference. Extra salty peanut butter or a tomato?
