Trip Report Visited Davis Lake in NorCal....

#2
Nice! Davis has been up and down, poisoned several times since the '90s due to pike infestations and the drought definitely took its toll in recent years. Looks promising for a comeback. Huge population of damselflies and snails in good years. Some good creeks near there.

Robert, yes, Davis has had it's ups and downs. If they ever find the idiot who introduced pike into the lake they might find him hanging from a tree. Devastated the community, closed businesses, killed jobs, drove down housing. The current water level is very high. The damselfly hatch is massive and with so much natural food available there is a strong reason to believe the fish are being very picky. It's not unusual to see 2 fish caught all day by 6-8 float tubers. A lot of skunks. On many days there is no one fishing at all as it is slow. Hopefully it picks up in the fall.
