Found this on the Flytying Forum; seems to share chromosomes with the Stayner Ducktail. Supposedly a bass fly; like the Ducktail, should work as a stillwater trout fly, too.

hook - Daiichi 2461 #6
thread - Danville 6/0 brown
rib - small wire copper
body - mylar tinsel copper
underwing - fox squirrel tail
hackle - pheasant breast
wing - mallard flank dyed olive (1tbsp Rit Golden Yellow, 1tsp Rit Dark Green, 1 cup water)

mash barb, start thread, tie in rib, wrap to bend

return thread to tie-in point; tie in tinsel, wrap to bend and back, tie off/trim

counterwrap rib, helicopter end, cover with thread

measure (gap width past bend) a clump of squirrel tail; trim butts/tie in (dose with Sally to keep the hair in place)

tie in pheasant breast feather by tip; wrap, tie off/trim

stroke fibers down, cover with thread

prep mallard flank

tie in/trim, whip finish, SHHAN

Regards,
Scott
