Only started trying at this game back in Dec 17... Zero as expected (4 trips), maybe one tug - hard to know when you’ve never caught one. Despite that I love getting out on the PNW rivers for the spectacular scenery and (only during winter I guess) solitude.
All the rivers are closed now right, unless I can get across to the OP again?

No, the OP is closed. All rivers.

Started getting into fly fishing back in August and bit the bug hard. Made two trips to the OP and landed a bull trout, and lost two other unknowns.

I caught 8 or 9, all on the Trinity River in CA. Half swingin and half bobber lobbin. I managed to catch fish on every trip out this year. My best laid plans to hit the better quality, but tougher fisheries on the coast didn't materialize in Feb-March and now the season is done.

1 for 2 pulls over 4 days out this season. Both pulls came on a sunny, almost warm day when I looked at the weather forecast and felt it might be too bright. So much for theories...

It's been a great year, due only to having 3 above average trips to the OP since December. Locally, on the Columbia and Snake tribs, not so much. Zero, in fact.

Maybe ask how many have you hooked, because I went 18-0 on catching them this year. I have the hooking part down, but not the much more important landing part. Rats!

I had a couple grabs the other day. And I was Spey casting. Seemed pretty solid. Fish jumping out of the water, pulling line off the reel, could identify approximate size and sex. Didn't land either of them. No pix. Didn't happen.
