Amazing video.
I had a Great uncle that used live crawdads to catch bass in a local lake years ago.

Back in the day (decades back) when cleaning stream caught trout it was common to find crawdad parts in their gut. I might try a fake crawdad for trout this coming season.

Anyone here use a crawdad pattern?

I use them for smallmouth but they will sure work in water that holds trout as well. I buy the Fish Skull Crawbodies in packages of 8. They don't have to be sophisticated ties to work, basically just a weighted wooley bugger with a Crawbody lashed onto it. Antennae are optional. I think the claws are probably the trigger since they are so prominent. Smallmouth just can't resist them.
