RIP Norm Norlander

It is with a sad heart tonight I am informing you of the passing of Norm Norlander. Norm invented the Norvise Fly Tying System and Automatic Bobbin some 20+ years ago. During the time promoting the product he touched the lives of hundreds, probably thousands of fly tiers. Norm was as kind of a man as I ever knew always willing to talk and help someone with a problem or challenge. Norm passed quietly in his sleep Sunday night May 13th 2018 in his home in Kelso, Washington after a short battle with Cancer. The fly fishing and tying world will never be the same again. We have lost our friend, mentor, and all around great guy. Thank you norm for everything you have given to this industry, we will never forget you!

One of a kind. Our world has lost another Gentleman. Too few left.
I'm told his legacy is in good hands with his son at the helm.
Also, (for those of you inclined) was told that his son would appreciate hearing from those with special memories of Norm.
We'll all miss seeing Norm spin his Magic at future shows & expos.

Norm was a fine man. He was fond of quality Gin and fine cigars. His wife loves chocolate.
Privileged to have owned his vise, tipped a glass and share a cigar with him.
He gifted me a box of steelhead flies he tied for me a few years back. They sit on my bookcase.
Condolences to his family and friends.

Very sad to hear of Norm's passing. My condolences to his family. I have been tying on his vise for years. Bought it from Norm at one of the fly fishing expos. Norm was a very friendly guy willing to help anyone. I will think of him always when tying on my Norvise.
