Just got back yesterday morning. The winds were up but the bone fishing was pretty good. I found that size 6, orange, tan, and white with bead chain eyes were the ticket for the bonefish. Poppers were great for GT's and the Trigger fish were really fun to chase. I tied all of my own flies and found that the guides preferred less sparse so they cut them down. No problem. I did that intentionally so it could do that if necessary.
I agree. In my experience, sparse orange size 6 with gold eyes is the top choice. Basically orange krystal flash for the tail and body and mixed tan craft fur and orange krystal flash for the beard. Tie a mix of bead chain eyes and brass eyes for different sink rates. Have fun!
