Older flies passed down

#1
Hi all, I wanted to share this. These flies were given to me by my girlfriends father who had them in a box in their basement. They were her grandfathers flies. Too beautiful to sit in a box, and with the bucktail falling apart, I framed them up.

The family is from North Carolina and my girlfriend remembers family trips to the coast with their airstream as a little girl over thirty years ago. She would go out and watch him fishing out from the beach. When he was done, he would cast a little net out for her in the streams so they could collect the fish in a bucket and watch them swim around before letting them go. By every account, he was an awesome grandfather.

By any chance, does anyone know any history on this pattern? I'd love to have some information to share with them.

Thanks so much.
