Has anyone heard any recent news about the Fukushima fallout? Is it still getting worse?

We've been fed the "dilution is the solution" line, suggesting contamination levels would never reach "dangerous levels" (whatever the hell that means in the context of nuclear radiation) since the incident. I find it a bit "spooky" that it's still leaking, yet there has been next to zero reporting. If the Pacific is becoming increasingly contaminated, that's earth-shattering news, considering the percentage of the planet's population that relies on the Pacific for food. It would be nice to hear some sort of update. After all, it's the time of year when I tend to eat the most fish from the Pacific....

Question about the Zerohedge article. What's that NOAA map depict? The scale of different colors is in cm. Cm of what? No measurement that has to do with radiation is measured in centimeters.

Not only can the amount of radiation released by Fukushima not contaminate the entire pacific ocean, it has not negatively affected any of the salmon/steelhead that swim in our rivers and oceans. Here are three articles you should read if you are worried about the amount of radioactive pollution from Fukushima:

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/radioactive-salmon-fukushima/

https://oceana.org/blog/worried-abo...d-turns-out-bananas-are-more-radioactive-fish

https://fukushimainform.ca/2016/03/...salmon-lessons-learned-in-the-atlantic-ocean/

I get more radiation on a round trip cross country flight than I do in one year working around operating reactors as a nuclear engineer. I'm not arguing that increased amounts of radiation isn't detrimental to human health, I'm just conveying the fact that there is natural radiation that occurs in daily life, like eating bananas.

Please be properly informed about this disaster and do not buy into conspiracy theories about radiation.

With no evidence whatsoever.... I noticed a lot of dying smaller maples and some other trees along the roads north of the cowlitz river, wasn't consistent like herbicide, and I wonder if something new from the automotive world like the DEF diesels are now required to use may be a factor?
I'm not a biochemist and all this is greek to me, but I found an article about those compounds which seems, at first glance, to imply that this technology was implemented to reduce human cancer risk without an understanding of the implication of the other compounds in diesel exhaust.

Seems like the timing is about right.

well damn guess there is no concern then just more faux stuff...plus they're hipsters. Thanks for the correction , we can put the truth kernels away now, sort them out a halflife later, right?

^^ I love that I got Old Man and Triggs to like that post. Maybe Triggs is out there rowing away to “Gonna Make You Sweat” every morning, and Old Man’s got a 90s mix tape with Deee Lite, Young MC, etc that he pops in on his way to the skinny blue lines. It is so in my mind; don’t step on my fantasy!

You got my music all wrong. It's CCR, Eagles and County western. I don't Listen to anything else. But mostly I have on my Radio on the way fishing for just noise. I don't really pay any attention to it. It cuts down on the road noise.
