Anyone fish the Thorp canyon today? I floated green bridge to diversion and caught 1 6", a strike on my indicator, and a strike on a streamer... saw some jump but really slow... I tried dries, nymphs, streamers... wondering if I suck or if it was slow for others also. I was on the river at 12:30 and off at 5:30.
I camped at Big Pine Thu until this afternoon. Fri was a great day on the water, but on the lower end of the canyon. I put 14 to the net with the trout spey and wet flies on Fri, and one a dry fly. Went out there today and nearly got skunked but managed a couple to the net on drys when the hatch went off. Nothing on the spey today.
flows and weather seemed the same as Fri, but I didn't have my portable barometer with me. Hatch went off about 2 pm down by Lmuna Creek, a little later than the previous day. Size 14 or 16 dries should do the trick.
