February, the shortest month of the year, sure does seem to be takin' sweet time!!
January BLAZED by quickly.

Preston I especially enjoyed seeing the dead chicken. A variation of that fly caught four cutts on the N.F. Stilly on four consecutive casts without moving. Nothing big but nice fish love.

I have found the best producing wooly worm for trout is of the same color scheme as the dead chicken. ;)

I'm surprised at the small number of freshwater flies shown. Doesn't anyone fish the rivers for sea-run cutthroat anymore? Here are a few that have been consistently successful for me.

Love fishing rivers for big cutt's Preston, I'd fish your sculpin all day long and then some. All great proven patterns that have worked for years, I just love me some big old scuplins !!!

Orvis #4 Saltwater thread, #4, black.
Holographic tinsel wound body.
Wapsi small or medium silver wire rib.
Fox Squirrel tail wing.
Two tips of peacock heel for overwing.
Collar of peacock heel, rope twisted on thread.
