Perhaps at some point I'll post up the total fly....it's one of my huntin' dogs, definitely not a show dog.

Total mayhem. Every fish in the lake was feeding in the top foot. I hardly ever fish a mayfly imitation but when the air is full of them and they land everywhere

for scores of little ones and a few jumbos. This guy was bleeding so I kept him and another to make almandine for dinner.

Having just stitched up the torn cover on my float tube, I decided to test my buoyancy luck on an urban lake stocked this past week. Allegedly. No signs of trout anywhere, but the bass and panfish were hungry. First one took a Carey special (which I donated to a lily pad two casts later). 5E180AA7-A490-47BA-8969-7F2B11CE80BB.jpeg
But that was just a little guy. Simi seal leach was a hit. 14” bass a bit later. 74461503-8CA3-4875-8E64-C87EB6062647.jpeg
And a smaller cousin on the same

And then some good size (8”) panfish on an olive bugger. B747AE09-96CA-44E2-9EB8-8BE279F409AD.jpeg 8E6635CF-5882-44B2-9FE0-3465E4CDE42F.jpeg No stockers, but this was way more fun anyway. Many more hooked and lost, great late afternoon/evening on the water.

Little olive marabou with chrome body and red glass bead, I call it Chrome Willy :)
On the way to the ramp a fish took Chrome Willy violently and yanked my whole rig out of the boat and into the lake, couldn't get to it in time.
If someone dredges up a 5wt St.Croix ultra legend and orvis midarbor with black type 7 line from Pass please let me know :)

Ouch. We were in the db next to you when it happened. Never hooked a fish or the rod. That type 7 must be hugging the bottom :)

Was that you? :)
I don't know, don't think it's the bottom, I was rowing pretty briskly the whole time, line was strung out maybe 25deg and it's such a tiny light fly...

yeah, I’m pretty sure it was a fish too. Saw a couple of jumps that looked more like it was trying to throw a fly than a rise. We worked around there, both for swish and the off chance you had a floating line that could be snagged. But T7 will take some dredging. What a bummer
