Go there, get as far away from easy access as possible, then fish flies you're confident in. Same formula I use when exploring any new fishery. I recommend it because, though I too sometimes appreciate a good tip, I suspect you'll only get scolded for asking for specifics on Crab Creek round these parts.

Here's a solid pointer I think is safe to offer: enjoy it!

Call ahead to see how flows are. I was deterred from going on account of the snow melt.

Check with fly shops or whoever you can think of.

Look out for the MEAN BULLS they can scare the beejeeeebeeees out of you.
No joke.
I was there a few years ago and came back after dark, could not tell if the eyes blazing at me in my bright headlamps were docile cows or the oner\y bulls.

I got chased by a bunch of these while horse riding
I was surprised by the aggression

my advice is let the fucking fish spawn. the few remaining places that have wild native fish dont need to be promoted on the internet or fished in spawning season. i think this thread sucks. and no, i dont fish there before people start bitching back at me :) i did see a 15k followers montana based instagram account posting how badass they were and hotspotting it though a couple days back. the fish were fire truck red and spewing white love sauce.

Not to keep booting this to the top and I don't do Instagram but that sucks.

its a step beyond this thread thats for sure but we are in an era of fishing were ethics are secondary and your not cool if your not pimping rivers by name for hero shots and likes. would you believe i actually bite my tounge here often? i can accept that im a troll to a degree but im so sick of small water ways being promoted to mass markets of fishing bros in order to keept he free gear rolling in.
