I don't get why they are fighting the fire just from the ground? Maybe I do...but shit!
Unfortunately there aren't many ways to fight fire in a building like like this - tall, open, long span, heavy timber structures. Once on fire, that roof is a house of cards supported by massive masonry walls and buttresses. This may be a complete loss except for the stone. Devastating...

Yeah...the worst kind of building fire scenario short of gasses and chemical flammibles...burns from the top and inside out...Just thinking about archive losses...not just from the fire itself but the water
