Just returned from our third trip of this season. My wife and the dog (neither who fish) travel with me so we mix in sightseeing, some hiking, searching for animals, and I get in a little fishing in at every campsite. It works pretty well for all of us.
Evening near camp.

Saw some lonely roads and some wildlife...

This spot would have made a great camp if it weren’t for the wind, but what a view!

The Aspen trees here are beautiful but a little angry looking. They have a tough existence.

A quiet spot in out of the way wild places are our preferred campsites .

Saw a total of eight of these, but not one Grizzly.

Caught some more, including this especially purdy one...

Gotta love being able to take these trips and seeing so much beauty.

Someone spent some creative time building this with found rocks... seemed appropriate to include it here.

Greg -

I “love” you’re report. Not just the fish, wildlife and scenery, but also seeing that you did this in your Northern Lite. Seeing your camper brings back bittersweet memories for me because I had a new 10.2 ex cd that I had to sell last year before I could take a trip like you just did.

We do really like this camper. It’s the 8-11 model made for short bed trucks.

Sorry to hear you weren’t able to use your Northern Lite as you’d planned. Hopefully you can find ways to get out there to enjoy the wide open spaces in some way.

My wife tripped and fell during one of our camping trips a few years ago and broke her pelvis. She’s fully recovered from that now, but those tall stairs leading up to the camper are a concern, and some day we’ll have to look for an alternative as well.

My wife isn’t the most mobile, but she didn’t have any trouble getting into our Northern Lite. I believe the newer models, at least the larger ones, may now have more steps and a larger landing that make it a bit easier to get in and out.

Here’s a picture of mine from last summer. It’s hard to tell from the picture, but we were parked on a slight slope that made the back even higher off the ground than normal, and we used a folding stool on the ground for my wife.

I didn’t really have to sell my Northern Lite, but we had a large fire in MT that burned most of our other “toys” - camping, fishing, etc. things, so I decided to sell that truck and camper too until we got things sorted out.
