Braised lamb shank with za'atar roasted fennel, roasted beets with lebneh, and pita. Delicious!

I made the braising liquid kinda thin so I could blend it and run it through a sieve. Now I have 2 quarts of a Persian spiced tomato soup! That will go great with grilled cheese sandwiches this weekend.

No, didn't have the time. I have the next 4 days off so I'm gonna bake some things.

Went with a more Osso Buco style lamb shanks as the Pomegranates were deemed off limits...risotto on the side.



Night before went with Venison chops with a port wine demiglace with mushrooms, a dinner we really like with a good wine.




Tiramisu for dessert...

We like roasted Brussels sprouts....didn't used to but the better half got me into them.

2 nice meals cuz her birthday is the day before valentines day, so good excuse to eat well.

What, no corn? That looks really good. Shepard's pie was a family staple growing up. Don't have it very much (ever?) now, not sure why. Looking at yours, I'll have to do something about that.

Cast Iron....Husbands Grandmother's passed down after she passed...lots of dinners made in this! Philly Cheesesteaks, mozzarella stick side with homemade marina sipping sauce....it was so damn good!

Egg roll city here! Bacon cheeseburger egg rolls, peanut butter jelly egg rolls, carnitas and cilantro egg rolls, spam egg rolls... it could be endless. I’ve realized I love fried egg roll wrappers...a childhood memory of dumping the filling of the Chun King egg roll and eating the egg rolll wrapper dipped in soy sauce. Don’t hate! I’m doing pizza egg rolls next!
