Women's Fly Tying Classes

Active Member
Hey everyone--

Putting out a little plug for a series of events hosted by Emerald Water Anglers' women's program. Bugs & Brews is an informal series of fly tying lessons for women--all materials provided, BYOB, no experience necessary, $25 per event. Each session is a different pattern, and each is stand-alone (in other words, it's not a series of 5 classes or something like that). I teach you how to tie the fly, we tie a couple of them, drink beer (or your beverage of choice), and talk about fishing! You go home with all the flies you tied and an understanding of how/where/when to use them. They're every other Tuesday evening from 7-9 at Emerald Water Anglers in West Seattle.

Tomorrow night I'll be teaching the Knudsen's Spider and the Reverse Spider. Coming up, we've got hare's ear nymphs, marabou popsicles, Skykomish sunrises, skwala stones, and blue wing olives. Whether you're an experienced tier looking to build some community around fly fishing, or you've never picked up a bobbin in your life, there's a place for you here.

Men of WFF--if there is a woman in your life who you think would enjoy this, please pass this on to her!

You can sign up here.

We hope to see you there!
