Beautiful grips. I really like the feel of the old Heddon 60's wood grip, circassian walnut with the checkering done by Remington Arms Co. like their old shotgun stocks. Wonder if anyone nowadays could do that checkering work?
There is a guy in Snohomish that sells his own line of checkering tools should you wish to start practicing. I would imagine that he does checkering himself or at least would be a good resource for others locally who do.
Almost any stockmaker can do checkering and that is an easy pattern. There are some that farm that work out to specialists as it is rather time consuming.
Some very inspiring work there...limited only by imagination. I have some interesting materials waiting to go on my next build...just can't decide which rod I still need....I suppose a fortunate dilemma.....
