Get rid of the "disable your ad blocker" lock-out. My right to reject ads is as reasonable as the decision to put ads on this site. The ad blocker I use only blocks ads that are trying to track my location and/or online activities - I should be allowed to block that nonsense, even here.

I actually didn’t mind the ads. It was one ad in the right hand corner. And it seemed that they were connected to searches I made on the web. For example this old lady ad was probably because i was searching for assisted living for my parents. And the Trump ad is only because I’m political (tho certainly not Pro-Trump)

But WFF ads weren’t even close most sites you see where they are all over the place plus they move across the home page.

Are you seeing more than one ad Tinker?

Your right, private site...deal with them or become a contributor and support the site.

I didn't say anything about finding the ads offensive or intrusive. I said the ads contain code that want track my activity ELSEWHERE, away from WFF. They're tracking what I do and where I go when I'm not viewing THIS SITE, and that's a different kettle of fish.

I have nothing to hide. I simply have nothing I want to share with advertisers.

And Ed, my right to personal privacy includes not wanting PayPal to hold my credit/debit card information on file for monthly donations. The web is porous and PayPal is not a banking institution.

Keep it if you want, Chris. If you can't understand and respect the members' right to privacy and to filter out those ads that contain trackers, it's not to your credit.

@Tinker - I fully understand and support your desire for lower visibility on the internet. However, as you and I well know, it will always be there until laws change (fat chance).

I only use Google's Incognito mode for most of my internet browsing. Close it frequently. The number of cookies and info available is greatly reduced. Also appears to reduce FaceBook's intrusion on my life. Some sites will not allow Incognito mode - so they do not get my participation. Other sites do not allow AdBlockers and most do not get my participation. Not a great answer but better than nothing...
