I have my husband pretty well trained now to know the difference between my "fishing poles" and my "fly rods"
I too, however, frequently spoonerize that phrase. As in: "I'm going out to the shop to fly ties - don't lock me out!"
I tell my wife it's "fish on"....not " Oooo, my line's going around in a circle"..
That's just unprofessional....
Also, when I hook a fish, it's not necessary to act surprised, or shout "Finally!"...for the same reason.
