Guy if you want the squid fly to be irresistible, get some frozen squid and get the ink out of the head, around the eyes, and soak your fly in that before you cast. That ink smell drives fish crazy. One more thing is to jig the fly erratically like a squid. I do that even with dead squid to get the mahi and ahi to hit. It is like playing with a cat, tease them into eating.

I'm definitely not a huge bird guy, but there is something about those Albatross I really like. This one came floating up to our stern getting anchovies from my deckhand. Its amazing when you see one up close and realize just how large they are!

Some Albatross species get HUGE. I think the Short-tailed Albatross is a rarer Winter visitor off the coast here and an incredible bird-13 foot wingspan !!!!

Edit: checked my 13 foot wingspan above, a bit of a reach : )
Not 13 feet..they do live 40-60 years, however.

The Wandering Albatross has a 12 foot wingspan, longest of any living bird.

Yep no doubt. I've caught more albacore on a purple and black cedar than any three troll lures combined
