I think the critters are playing c&r too. Bird and Otter scars, oh my. And I worry about how I handle each fish.

Well, nothing like Billy and some others, but Bigmouths on a popper in Southwest Montana....gotta be some points.
That is sweet. Do tell. I have some @Shawn West deer hair poppers that really need to stretch their rubber legs. Didn't even know there were LMB in SW Montana. Feel free to PM me a few lakes. I won't tell. Now I need to scour the FWP website.

Fishing

The ripples and resounding water
A harmony that knows no bounds
Relentless and symphonic.
Across rock and sediment bed
Sleeping yet somber..
I find a chorus that speaks to me.
That staccato rhythm that has meaning to me..
I fashion a creation of feather and fluff
A creation that I think is good enough...
A hook, some thread and faith
That whatever large or small
Will come to see the presence of it all..
There it is this drift
Apart from the distraction around me...
The ripple of wind, the glint of light
On the water. the presence of life
The stream makes all this possible
With a confluence of the perpetual...
Waters flow forever to the sea,
We are captured in that moment
Mesmerized and able to see..
The natural wonder of nature
And it's brilliant perpetual..
I revel in this presence
And seek it's grace...
Knowing all of it is God's face...
I am forever thankful and
Knowing that none of this is possible
Without knowing it is a gift
We need to see
The love of earth

I guess that I'll have to go buy a license because of these pictures. I could go fish the Big Hole. It's the closest river to me. But probably the highest one.

Edit: I was right. It's discharge is usually 1500 Cu Ft per second. It's above 4100 Cu Ft per second. It's probably in the trees along the bank.

Tin Foil Time
Got some insane caddis action last night. Only problem was the bugs were size 18-20. Never needed caddis that small.

were they little black ones??? A tiny 18/20 EHC tucked in the corner of my box has saved my ass countless times! Sort of a “break glass in case of emergency fly” only can think of a time or two where I actually matched a hatch that small tho??

Yes, exactly! I gotta hit the vise and make some tiny CDC black caddis.

Thanks for sharing that. It's fun to look at places I may want to visit.
