Hey, it's 4th of July Weekend!

Elk NY strip with a port wine demiglace, roasted potatoes, some fresh peas and a salad, all from the garden of course.

If an elk gets in my garden, I'm having it for dinner too!

Yeah they don't stand a chance...
When I was on the upper Duckbush those things could wipe a garden out in 15 minutes.
A herd of 30- 40 elk can really do a number on some fruit trees....

Tons of bugs again today but fishing was meh.

Saw 'em on the rocks

Saw 'em in the grass

Saw 'em on the water

Piles and piles of nymphs all over the banks.

This might very well be my last day of salmon flies for 2020. Tomorrow we are going lower on the river to chase down that big brown. But what a great season. One of my better in recent memory.
