I took this iffy shot tonight at about 11:00pm, a tad NW and low in the sky of Comet Neowise. Was not expecting to see it until early AM but happened to be out and looked over and unknowingly saw a hazy triangle in the sky. WOW!
Really cool to first get that sense that it is a comet.
It has a VERY long tail, like 5+ moon diameter lengths. Can see it fairly easily with naked eye-not bright, but with binoculars it is spectacular.
Not anywhere near as bright as Hale-Boppe in 1996/97, but impressive. Heck, it is a comet ! Cannot get picky and just relish the amazing event.
Some great meteor action including one that was a very big streak and close\"large"
I could have swore everyone said it was in the NE sky? We haven't been looking because NE is blocked around where we are. Guess I should go look a bit more tonight.
Finally-a cloud free night and here in the dark skies of NE Washington the comet is just spectacular. Visible from my carport just over the top of the barn, it is framed by pine trees on both sides. A really nifty sight.
Great comet viewing tonight. The tail on Neowise is really long! My view was from a bluff looking out over Puget Sound. I could see it almost immediately and without binoculars. I saw quite a few small airplanes over the water, probably comet viewing.
WOW! This is some great stuff. I've been watching from my deck with binos for a couple of nights. Thanks to all those that contributed these awesome photos.
Looks like night 2 of no Comet skies here near the WA coast. I am contemplating a climb of an Olympic peak and overnight for last views if weather pans out this weekend.
Clear and breezy here in SWW. In spite of the Portland/Vancouver city lights, we had a decent view last night from a neighborhood view point.
Tonight it was just high enough to be visible from our front yard, but still too much twilight before it dipped behind the houses across the street. Hoping it doesn't fizzle as it gets higher into darker skies the next few nights.
Checked out Neowise and Jupiter with its 4 visible moons from hurricane ridge Saturday night! Looked just like your photos!
