Trip Report Ross Lake July 2020

Took the family out to Ross Lake back in July for a 7 day canoeing camping trip. The video is kinda long so I didn't really include a bunch of the footage of me fly fishing from shore, but the fishing fantastic! Lots of big rainbows and a few cutthroats and brook trout thrown in. When we first started trolling, I was using a small tan/olive sculpzilla, and other peope we using small spoons. The streamer tended to outfish all the other lures, so everyone ended up just tying on sculpzillas and trolling those. While we caught a few fish out in the open, but I mostly caughtly the fish right next to shore, I would get as close to shore as I could without snagging. I trolled mostly with a full sink 5ips line. Not surprising points with big drop offs were very successful. Anyway it's mostly a family trip video, with a bit of other people catching fish thrown in. It just got too long so I left most of my footage out. Hope you enjoy!

Each year my Uncles/Aunts and cousins spend a weekend in a couple of the bunk houses at the Resort. Not this year unfortunately.

A couple weeks ago I hiked down with the family for an afternoon. I was hoping I might get lucky and that there would be a boat available to rent. There wasnt, but I still caught a couple of fish casting from the beach.

It was fun showing my kids the resort and lake that I have been visiting since I was little. Cant wait to get back. Lake 2.jpg Lake.jpg Lake3.jpg
I'm the kid almost out of frame on the right.

Josh, Great pics from your day at greenpoint this summer. I really liked the one of the family in the back of the flatbed. That brings back some memories. That truck is a 1962 tilt cab chevy. I was probably driving it. It got pretty tired thru the years and after 3 motors and two transmisions I gave it away in 1996. And what can I say..... our now fearless leader John with a beer in his hand. Priceless!

Looks like a great trip, Could you briefly outline what gear you were using for video capture and what editing software.
Well done...

@(BigDave) Apparently I missed a lot of replies here. I used a variety: gopro, iPhone, and Panasonic gh5. I use Adobe premiere to edit everything. If you have more specific questions feel free to DM me
