Simply didn't deserve to win. Needing Russ to be perfect to carry this team was not sustainable. Once AZ figured out that the Hawks couldn't handle the blitz it was over. They'll learn more from this loss than they would from squeaking out another victory. Lots to work on. I hear Dan Quinn is available...
Grube & falcon... totally agree. 'Guarded Optimisum' is the best we can hope for at this point in the season. We have to be healthier on D, having Jamal back to at least be a spy would be great, haven't heard if he's ready?!? Going 2-2 would be acceptable for the next 4 games, I don't think we are all that good...yet. QUESTION: if the total yards gained is over 1,000, who do you like?
Changed ourr game plan in the 2nd. half. We can't afford to lose a guy like Carson, the extra 1-3 yards he gets every carry is huge. We didn't adapt to their D, no screens or quick crossing routes. Hope we learn from it.
Not converting a 3rd and 2 after the 2min warning with the cards out of timeouts...., then putting up a defensive 'stand' that consisted of standing 15yds back and letting anyone take 8yards at a time so that Arizona could tie the game. At that point I told Di this game is over. I just didn't know how long it would take.
Chris Carson and Jamal Adams would have been game changers, pick one to be healthy the whole game and Seattle is 6-0 today; but that's football, not who you play it's when you play 'em.
Officiating was pretty terrible. Not saying that's why the hawks lost, but that head hunting hit Baker laid down should have been a game ejection. I love the guy, ex husky and all, but seriously?
One last takeaway. If Moore doesn't commit that hold, DK Metcalf would be all over everyone's sports feed/pages today. That catch-and-run he took to the house in overtime was a thing of beauty... With that and the open field tackle.. sheesh; this kid's ridiculous. Maybe he should play both sides of the ball; sure could have used him on D last night.

If Moore doesn't commit that hold DK probably doesn't get the first down, let alone the TD.
DK became one of my all-time favs with that rundown. Yes, it was incredibly impressive from size/speed standpoint - but it was far more impressive from a character/heart standpoint. You can't coach that. You either have it or you don't. A lot of other guys had already quit on the play.

I love watching offensive guys make defensive plays. DK's was awesome from an athleticism standpoint but it's my second favorite all time for the Seahawks.
Offense playing defense #1 play has to be Steve Largent's hit and fumble recovery on Mike Harden. Little guy smacked the big dude.
Few random thoughts:
1. The Wagner call was horrible and a huge deal.
2. Buddha should have had a big penalty and even a possible ejection. If they want to claim player safety utilize the booth if the refs on the field can't see those head shots.
3. Norton needs to go.
4. Dee had a huge missed block on the I think last Wilson sack where it looked like he didn't want anything to do with blocking the guy. So bad I think the rookie should be on the bench for awhile. Maybe rest of year.
5. If I see DK running at me like that I throw the ball in one direction and run away in the other
6. The next game is huge. We have to step up on D. Will they trade for someone? If so who and what draft pics? Jamal needs to come back 100% too.
That Metcalf play reminded my of the Ben Watson run down 15 years ago. You have to truly respect guys who put that effort in. I certainly think more highly of Metcalf after seeing that. Impressive.
Seattle is really good. The problem is that your defense is awful. I know this is true because my beloved Patriots scored a bunch (30) on them and the Pats offense and QB play is atrocious. Seattle's defense is the only defense that Cam Newton has looked good against. I do not know what can be done to fix it either. They don't cover well and don't rush the passer well. Those aren't generally scheme issues but are talent issues. Run defense is fine or so it seems so that's nice.
Seattle's QB is playing at an MVP level, but the defense makes bad QB's look good. When the fighting chicken hawks face a really good QB this may be an issue. JG next week might be the best QB left of their schedule though. I can only imagine what Rodgers or Mahomes would do to that defense.
I said I didn't know who was going to win or how … guess I just had a feeling all was not going to go Seattle's way. Long way to go. One loss is sometimes a good thing.
So many blunders late, you have to wonder......They started the game like gangbusters then finished with their collective tail between their legs. The real killer was the failure to get the first down during the 2 minute warning. With supposedly the best quarterback in the league and dinged up running backs, logic would dictate that plunging into the line against a 10 man front was perhaps the worst decision they could make. Three plunges later they were still 2 yards short, a first down would have iced the game.
The defense is akin to making a water bucket out of mosquito netting.
It was the Seahawks' game to lose. And by golly they found ways to do it. If a team can learn more from losing than from winning, the 'Hawks learned a ton yesterday.
I listened to the game on the radio with Steve Raible calling it remotely from Seatle.
The only really great part of the day was not listening to Dori Monson blab repeatedly, "Well...the SeaHAWKS are 79-2 when leading at HALFtime with RUSSELL Wilson under Peeete Carroll"...
I swear, I am actually hoping that any loss they get from here out, they actually were ahead at half and lose to get that thought out of my head ever returning..(Dori or that stat!!).
