First fish of the New Year

My first for the year spent a lot of time out of the water and towing me in the kayak last weekend

My first fish of the year turned out to be an incidental bull trout, nice at about 22" long, but skinny as an axe handle. Well almost. I thought about sharing my lunch with it. It sure seemed like it could use a good meal, or 20 or 30 good meals.

Got my first yesterday.... it was a Sculpin. Hooked in the armpit as they so often are. And a Searun to even out the day.

First fish of my year was a 17” bull. Second fish of the year was 29-30” bull. I’m 90% sure it was 30 but that’s a hard claim to make without taping it. Caught jan 2nd. Pretty sure I’ve already peaked for the year.
