Why does Clackacraft rest on roller and not rear bunk?

When I look at my trailer and all other Clackacraft trailers I see that the rear bunk is not a resting surface, the roller is! Why?!?
I’m of the mind to shim the rear bunk 1/2”...

Please help me under stand this.

Yes I’m well aware they do.., but why? Why not on the bunk- which seems most logical.
