It's always the other sides conspiracies that are crazy.

The biggest conspiracy of all.......this is all by design! We are meant to be fighting with each other.

Edit for clarification...

I don't mean covid is by design, per se.....just how our country runs in general.....we are meant to be divided.

Always thought he was a blowhard, but this time he made sense..

Chuck has always been one one of my faves. I used to live near Tahoe and go to the American Century Golf championship every year.....Chuck was always a crowd favorite.....he'd sign autographs and interact with the crowd.....I know when there was a fire that destroyed homes in Tahoe he donated money.

He's a generous dude, and he doesn't care what people think about him.....and imo, he usually tells it like it is.

I feel like "twat" is probably the most underrated insult to use. I know that comedians are using the c-word for the shock, but twat is a much funnier word.

"A gaggle of anti-mask twats was protesting intelligence." It just feels better.
Brits have had twat dialed for ages. They’ve even got an extra bit o flavor on the pronunciation.

Old, awful and ugly.
I’m not old enough to remember, but were there vocal anti vaccine crowd when it came to measles, polio etc?
Obviously no internet and such back then but there were likely still conspiracy theorists back then. Just curious.
Any older members care to share any experiences from back then.
It’s really sad to see how Covid and the vaccines have become so political.

The vaccine is a wierd one. When trump was in office and touting it, he couldn't be trusted it was unsafe. But when biden was elected everything was all good. I have it but it's funny how views change depending on who is pushing it.

A pandemic during an election year when we had the most polarizing president in the history of our country?

Of course it was politicized.

... the COVID-19 Vaccines thread, thought I'd keep this separate (Moderators, feel free to shut down at any time). Had a run-in with the crazies today. A neighbor works for OSHA. About 2 dozen protestors decided to show up at his house, thankfully he had a heads up so he packed his wife and 2 small kids and left for the day. I took the opportunity to have a tête-à-tête with them. Shall we say "Bat Shit Crazy", I think so. Apparently this is a global hoax. People are not dying, the hospitals have not been full, it is all so socialism can take over (asked one fellow if he gave back his $2800 government check, of-course not). I was called a liar and a government stooge and screamed at to repent (I was going against Jesus after all - go figure). At one point, the repent "lady" pulled out some sheathed implement, then unsheathed a wood rasp and started waiving it around, trying to approach me. Kinda comical I kinda chuckled and asked if she was threatening me, other stepped up and told her "we don't need that." Got comments like "If masks work, why can you still smell your farts" (swear to God, that was an actual statement/question from a grown man). I asked someone if they had to have surgery, would it be OK if the surgeon and all surgical staff went without masks - didn't get an answer. Later, I pulled up my mask as it was sliding down, repent lady screamed "surgeon, you touched your mask..." It was literally juvenile stuff.

There were some rather belligerent individuals amongst the group, tried to intimidate me, didn't work, not cause I'm some sort of badass superhero, but more because I'm a stubborn SOB who won't put up with bullshit (could be a fatal flaw one day, oh well). Some sorta crazy, unfortunately, also possibly beyond unhinged and potentially dangerous. Spoke with my my neighbor when he got home (he apologized profusely as if it was something he'd done), and apparently this is some of the same crowd as the Malheur occupation. Real mob mentality. Kind of ironic since they accused me of being under "mind control" from the government. The shame of it is some of them had young kids with them, exposing them to this sort of mentality, intimidation and a fair amount of fowl language from them (I actually held my tongue, curse wise).

Anyway, I could go on, I won't. Just be safe out there. If not for yourself, then for the sake of your family, you neighbors and your community, just hang on for a while longer, wear a mask, socially distance, and if the urge hits you, get vaccinated.

Cheers
I'm sure I won't find myself in this situation, but if I did I'm thinking I'd get all this on video. Then, film at 11.

Barkley has always been one one of my faves. I used to live near Tahoe and go to the American Century Golf championship every year.....Chuck was always a crowd favorite.....he'd sign autographs and interact with the crowd.....I know when there was a fire that destroyed homes in Tahoe he donated money.

Back in the day, he was a Nike sponsored athlete. He went to our former warehouse in Wilsonville as a surprise attendee of an anniversary party for that facility's longest-serving employee, and hung out at the party with all the folks; it made him quite popular at Nike.

That weekend, my best friend, who worked at that warehouse and attended that party, was riding his bike in downtown Portland, along the waterfront park. Lo and Behold! He comes upon Charles Barkley walking along the path. My friend stops, re-introduces himself to Chas. After a few moments, a bunch of little kids come up and clamor for autographs, My friend retired to a nearby bench and watched. Barkley stood there for 45 minutes, signing autographs and chatting with the kids, not leaving until all were satisfied. What a guy!

Sorry, this lends nothing to the subject of this thread, but I'm probably too strident about Covidiots for these pages, so better this anecdote.

Tin foil hat #3...American Journal of Medicine. If you look at Figure 1, you will see the use of HCQ and Azythromycin. The NEJM and The Lancet, both considered reputable medical journals, retracted articles stating basically HCQ was ineffective. This article also discusses other potential treatment regimens.
