Trip Report Gotta fish it

I was pleased with the how the Pat's came out of the vice yesterday so I was looking forward to using one. I've always felt that my 7' Cortland GFL 1000 3/4wt was a bit short. I got it when I moved here and thought it would be perfect. Now that I can cast better like it more but I still feel 7' is short for an efficient fishing tool. Anyway, it's a fun rod so I took it out this morning while the water was 63 and still going down.

Nice morning out, and I even fished upstream for a change.

and the fish were as pleased with the fly as I was.

along the way there are some multi-use facilities. pumping here was done over a month ago

the swimmers left only one, I can deal with that

because I can find little fishies with the spider

and some better ones in here with the partridge and orange

I turned around and headed out when I got to the area where the little ones grow up. It changes up/downstream a bit every year, but you know when you get there.

Very nice, are these resident rainbows/redsides? What size range do you typically encounter? At some point I will be doing some fishing over in that neck of woods. Enjoy your reports!

Those are the wild resident redsides, and are normal for the selective gear waters. Not really a land for big fish, but I like to take a morning walk and catch some fish, whatever I find.
