Duwamish waterway pontoon fest?

I remember that pink year and the posts with pontoons over there. 2009 maybe? I took my dinky 13 ft Whaler copy over there from Bremerton once (quite the crossing past ferries etc) and it was a bit sketchy out there around the tugs even with a boat that could haul ass if needed.

Anyone remember who you to post that? Used to post a lot but disappeared as far as I know.
Yes I remember. He’s still around but doesn’t post much. There are a lot of access points for hand carried boats if you just look around. They change periodically due to lots of crazy ass typically urban/industrial living factors. Honestly though it seems the hot spots that hold fish change from run to run too. It’s my local and all...a magnificent fishery...see you on the 20th...West Si-yeeeed!

Jack Perry Park? I was looking at that on Google Earth and couldn’t tell what the water access was. Looked like a sea wall. Is it easy to launch there? Could I get a canoe in there?
Stopped by there today. It would be easy to drag a ‘toon down the riprap to the water, bu I’m pretty sure I’d find my hooptie on cinder blocks when I got back.

Used to park and fish in that area quite a bit from 09-13, but there's been an absolutely staggering increase in the level of crime, filth, and disorder in that area since then.

I'd frankly be more interested in hearing how successful people were at parking their vehicles in the area without them getting jacked than I would be in hearing about how the fishing went.

Anyone try Jack Block Park? It’s at the NW corner of Terminal 5, via Harbor Ave. SW. I’ve noticed in the past but haven’t reconned it yet.

Yes. It can be done. Somewhat limited but not too sketch parking. Helps to be in a pair to assist with not blocking the loading/offloading zone for too long. Where you park is not necessarily where you want to carry your boat from.

Y’all made me look through my pinks album. Some damn fine times. My last good set of photos was from 2015. The last two runs haven’t been the same for me. Hoping to have some timing this year. 37DCC91A-4AC6-451C-B37C-DE6B51AED182.jpeg

Any tips for a first timer?

7wt? sink tip? paddle upstream at high slack tide and ride the outgoing back out?

Thanks!
