What @Stonefish said.
It's hard to say. With the rain, wind and cooler weather I would think some time in the next couple weeks hopefully.
A lake who's name escapes me down south of Centralia was just recently closed due to toxic algae contamination less than a week ago. That kind of makes me wonder about Pass opening anytime soon.
I wish there was a place to access testing results.

We drove by Pass last Saturday and really didn’t think the water looked that bad. There was some green scum along the shoreline near the cove and down towards the launch as we drove south.
I’ve seen the water color look worse in years where it hasn’t been closed.

Detailed search for your lake
This database contains the most current toxicity data available. All instances of values above the recreational guidelines are kept as up to date as possible, but values below the guidelines may be somewhat delayed in entry.Since there is a lag time from the date of sample to the date of analysis, be sure to check the sample date when looking at data or before you use the lake. Remember to use caution and avoid scums. "When in doubt, stay out!"

Your local jurisdiction may have more specific information about your lake. Questions? Contact Lizbeth Seebacher at Department of Ecology.

If a lake is not listed, it has not been tested for toxic algae through the Ecology program.

The pins on the map represent the center of small lakes, regardless of where the sample was taken. To find more precise location information, download the toxin data and click the "view scum info" link. That is where specific sampling location information will be if it was provided. On larger lakes, (such as Lake Washington, Moses Lake and Potholes) pins represent the location of the sample if provided.

since the Microcystin levels are higher than state guidelines, I assume that means the lake is closed?

Was at pass a couple years ago, talked with the person who was doing the sampling. She was dipping in the scum that is always at the launch when the wind blows it in there. I asked her why dont you sample by the trees by the road and she acted annoyed that I might have made a reasonable suggestion. I'm not a scientist but the lake looked great except by the launch which had a 2 foot streak

They haven't tested it since September 20 according to the toxic algae website.
I don't know what kills toxic algae but I assume cooler weather and rain would help.
The site says Lake Campbell was tested Oct. 6th, It's what 3 miles from Pass?
Maybe they've tested Pass and the results are not up yet.

So I ignored the signs and fished Pass last night.....four browns over 5 lbs each and thirteen rainbows between 3-6 pounds! As I was screaming with joy and netting the last big rainbow.....my wife kicked me and said "Roll over! You're dreaming again!" :(
I noticed in your dream Lue wasn't there. But I bet the crown was!

Why is the lake still closed? Drove by last weekend and was no serious algae present. I mean I've fished that lake dozens and dozens of times where there was 4inches of neon blue bloom at the ramp and never got sick.

I mean what are people sticking their fingers in their mouth, or is it all the yuppies that float their duck floats and kayaks and the fools that let their dogs drink from the lake with the toxic algae sign right next to them?? What the hell ever happened to common sense.. this state has no clue what it's doing when it comes to fishing or public health, it's pathetic.

The lake is under control of Skagit county health dept. They require 2 consecutive weeks of tests under the toxicity level guideline. Currently there have been none. The last test was October 20th and October 11 before that one.
They're testing weekly now as the levels are dropping and they would like to open the lake according to the Skagit health worker I spoke with.

That's cute Peyton but im twice the fisherman you are and twice the man. And any time you wanna prove that, I'll out fish you on that lake anytime anywhere. then slap the shit out of you cause teach you some manners. your the reason fly fisherman's have bad reputations acting like arrogant pricks.. but that's easy to do from your keyboard so it's understood
