Bamboo Northern Idaho

Spent a few days in the Idaho Panhandle. The cutthroat showed an interest in soft hackle hares ears and march browns. One evening I wished I'd brought my small baetis soft hackles. Here's the brains and looks in our family swinging a soft hackle.

My wading boots fell apart. I stopped into Castaway Fly Shop in Coeur d'alene trying to buy a pair of boots. The owner Joe Roope didn't have any size 13 wading boots but he said "here use mine, just bring them back when you're done." This to someone he'd just met. Now that's service! While I was browsing the shop I also found a moderately priced 9' Wright and McGill Waterseal FA 6 weight impregnated bamboo fly rod. Coastal cutthroat here we come.
