How so? They are cheering for their team, happens in every sport when something helps the home team. NBA player misses a shot on the road? Fans cheer. Opposing QB throws an incomplete pass vs the Seahawks? Fans cheer. Soccer player misses a kick in PATs? Fans cheer.

That's sports. One team being unsuccessful means another is being successful, it's a zero sum game. Fans cheer for their team to succeed, not to be an asshole.
Many of us learned the game from gentleman, you learned it from watching Caddyshack. Best moment was Rahm & Garcia coming over and giving high fives and hugs to the US team. That's golf.

Literally every single US player gave high fives, hand shakes, fist bumps, hugs, etc. to EU players, caddies, and captains. Your odd anti-US crusade is strange, but I guess caddy shack taught you interesting stuff. Thankfully I was taught by gentleman :D

Anti-US crusade? You don't get it, which isn't a surprise.

Yeah, Ryder Cup is a different beast, not like a normal golf tournament. Crowd etiquette is out the window. Got no problem with that, seen European crowds do the same,

Great performance by US team, underwhelming by Europe.

cheers
Agreed, EU played pretty bad outside of Rahm and Sergio. Was glad Rory got a point today though, plus his interview was top notch!!
