I just bought a 10' 6" - 6 weight custom wraped 2 piece rod at a garage sale in Vancouver. I couldn't find out what the rod was built on, but it has a nickle/rosewood reel seat and a short fighting but. I looked at the loomis, lamiglas and sage blank catalogs and couldn't find anything that long. Please let me know what you think this rod could be. I can get pictures tomorrow. Any info would be great.

Fenwick made a series of 10' 6" rods of first-generation graphite in the 1970's. They had an extention butt, but I don't remember the length.

Between when I first posted and now I have taken to rod to a few shops. From what I was told it was probably a older model G. Loomis, which is what the seller suspected it was. Anyway, I love the rod, mends like a dream. I think I'll keep it in my collection.

Thanks for the info,

Could it be an IF1066 Rainshadow? I own 2 of them. They are very similar in feel and appearance to an early GL3. They have a moderate action yet plenty of reserve power in the butt section ..they cast great too.

Thanks for the info. I haven't looked into it much lately, I've been using it as a nymphing rod for steelhead, but I'm looking forward to using it out of a float tube. I'm content with my purchase.
