Guide for late February

Active Member
Hey guys,

My dad and a buddy are coming up in late Feb for 3-4 days and we are interested in getting a guide for the OP or S rivers, which ever is fishing best. We only catch and release, and are experienced fly fisherman. We all standard cast and will only need flies. I have a skagit set-up I've only used a few times. Any rec's would be great.

All the local rivers used to be open until the end of March or April. They no longer are due to the poor shape Puget Sound steelhead runs are in.
Most of the hatchery fish will be done by the end of January, so they close them early to protect the wild fish.
Fished last year with The Evening Hatch guys on the Wynoochee, had a blast. We nymphed all day and caught fish. They talked about having some decent days swinging on the North Peninsula rivers like the Sol Duc and Hoh. Might check them out, they are a site sponsor.

I'd rather be reading water
Don't get me wrong, Jim is a master with the fly, be it nymph, Spey, whatever. He really knows where the fish are, and will help you find them. He does walk in trips too.
