I looked at the Whiting website and they list a variety of dyed colors and some natural colors for their Coq de Leon. Your recent flies all seem to use the same color. What is it? Medium dun? What colors have you tried?

I am exploring the possibilities of the CdL hen saddle as versatile tying material. As you noted I have used the natural, non-dyed, feathers in the postings. I am now delving into some of the dyed colors - the greens/olives and the reds.

Here is a fly using the green dyed material - in the style of the Irish lough mayflies (though I have tied it a bit more sparse than most Irish traditional tiers would).
