Cle Elum Blockages (pics)

Floated the Cle Elum from Bakers to South Cle Elum on Saturday.
Two complete blockages (one tree, one logjam), both have room to drag a raft around.

Logjam portage isn't immediately obvious as it's a narrow channel coming into it...there is a gravel strip on the left of the jam. Scout-able from the right side. The logjam also has a large tree behind (biggest tree right of center) it that the beavers are almost done with, so it could get worse before it gets better.

How'd you guys do Chris? I hiked up about 5 miles from the confluence a few weekends ago with some pals. Threw everything we could at them but saw nothing. Yak was blown.
Clarity was too good. Tried all the usual suspects, occasional unidentified fish-like taps but no real action besides a pissed off beaver and spooked elk.

Your STIHL friend might make quick work of the first problem...good luck with the second.
Don't spend much time on this forum anymore, but blockage knowledge is something to spread.

A couple of good cuts in the second one and the physics of hydraulics will take care of the rest. Lesson I learned the hard way when I was a lad - don't cut on the down stream side....
