I'm looking for a trout net that has a fish friendly basket. Somehow I lost mine last time I was fishing. I would-be open to higher quality nets like brodin, fisknat etc... For a decent price. Let me know if you have anything. Thanks.

I was recently visiting my son in Missoula--he also lost his. I bought two of them at the local Walmart for $19.95 each. They are very good quality nets. You should check them out. I believe the frame is a two toned bamboo and the net is the semi clear rubber netting,--the brand is Cortland and it is billed as a catch and release net.

I agree. I bought a $95 dollar one at the Lynnwood show and then found the $20 one at Walmart. The shape of the basket is different, but I grab whichever one is handy. They are very similar in looks and quality.

I picked up a nice custom made net around here a few years back and for the life of me can't remember the name of the outfit that built it. An email search reveals the fellow's name was Gregory Walker. It's made out of Koa wood and has a rubberized net. Here are the pictures Greg sent me. The handle has a logo containing a fly, lightning bolt, and a tree.

I picked up the 2nd one from the right. Anyone remember these? I'm pretty sure they are no longer made.

Finally found it...Gregory Walker - Tropical Lightning Creations.
He was based out of Hawaii, but is no longer in the net business.

It's a shame as he did some really nice work. He sent me a matching magnet and clamp.
