Brian Lencho, aka Doublespey, and I fished the Clearwater River in Idaho. We were able to fish all our favorite spots without seeing another soul. It was dead slow. The B-run is almost nonexistent and the water was low and cold. Saturday we fished the Snake with Craig Lannigan, good friend, retired Lewiston teacher, jet boat captain, and all-round steelhead encyclopedia. We hit five and landed three. The water was warmer and there were fish that wanted to play. The weather was overcast and 50. That evening, seven of us had dinner with Poppy and Linda. This morning Brian and I revisited the spot of biggest hits and scored an Oh for nothing. The pic is of my gift from Mother Snake.
