I'm looking to buy some CDC feathers for Christmas gift, an assortment of colors. I'm well aware of quality differences between capes and saddles for tying, but don't know much about CDC sources/considerations. Whenever possible I support the local shop, but this is a little more specialized...
My apologies to Hans but this floats better and I can see it when the light goes off the water; dubbing loop allows use of poorer quality CdC, of which I have a sizable quantity. Also works as a small hopper (legs optional) or a Spruce Moth.

WTB used Marc Petitjean Magic Tool Clip Set for CDC. I am wanting to do some more CDC flies and think it would help a bit. Currently use a regular bull clip and its ok but the Magic tool clip looks like it would save some time. Message me if you have a set you are not using. Thanks for your time!
Another great fly for using up substandard CdC; tried wrapping feathers onto the loop with consistently poor results so I went with the DIY Henry's Fork Hackle method. Tied here as a Flav; change color/size to suit your needs.

A flatwater pattern of unknown origin (I'm assuming the name relates to the river, not the state); very similar in appearance/design to Sam Wike's Siddac so that may be the source. Change size/colors to suit your needs.
