Visited the Eugene Cascades Raptor Center last week. They took out an osprey and I managed a few up close pics. Pretty intense birds! I think we can all relate to the osprey, and we can all agree that they win when it comes to fishing efficiency! That last picture pierces right through your soul!

An awkward pose by a clumsy lake fisherman trying to look cool with his big stocker: Took a #10 bead head bunny leech on an intermediate line. There are more there. One pod that ambled by my pontoon numbered 18 fish. Kid you not.... 18 7# rainbows... Two-three feet down, just slowly cruising by...

I recently bought one of the Crosman American Classic 1377 pump pistols. These things have been around since 1977 and at less than $60 nowadays they have provided shooting fun for several generations by now. In stock form they are certainly crude and cheaply made but still manage to be very...

Last minute I decided to take my son fishing this evening. We would have a hour on the water at most, but I figured we could run into a few fish. I quickly packed the car and we headed out to a local river. There are a few spots that I know of where he doesn't have to wade, so that's were we...

Eighty-six today and near 90 degrees tomorrow. What was one of the coolest and wettest springs we have had in a while seems to have come to an abrupt end. Cooler on Wednesday and back up to mid to upper 80's for as far as the 10-day prediction will go. The one lake that has been doing well...

Left at 2 pm last friday and logged the first 600ish miles of my trip. Arrived at destination 1- my good friends driveway. Hard to sleep that first night with the city sounds gone and the crickets and stars alive. But sleep I did. Woke on morning one, with my buddy's boats already loaded in the...
