I winter in Arizona and had the opportunity to fish this spring creek in December and only caught a few trout but they were both about 18 inches. I had been trying to get back before we returned to Washington and that opportunity finally presented itself last week. It sounds like I had a lot of...
A buddy tells me that mid-March is when the guides do all their fishing. He says it's a crapshoot for weather but the spring creeks and tailwaters (e.g., Madison below the lake) are great.
What are your thoughts?

I am looking at coming up to WA and spending a couple of days trying out a Catchercraft SRB with the intention of buying one if I like it. I want to get 2 full days on a loaner before I make a decision over some of the other boats I am looking at.

I have a brand new, still in plastic with warranty tags March Brown Hidden Water 9' 4 wt rod. It's 7 pieces and would make a great travel/backpacking rod as it'd easily fit in suitcase or pack. Comes with case which is about 20 inches long and sleeve. Selling for $190.
A few mods in materials and tying sequence to Barrett Christiensen's original. Again, don't be constrainted by recipe; feel free to substitute.

Hi guys and gals,
I haven't tied a tippet wing pattern for forever so had the itch to do one, hadn't done this pattern before and thought it was kind of a cool one. Recipe called for only one topping but I liked two better, gives it a rounder profile.
Thanks for looking,
The ribbing sequence was stolen outright from Hans Weilenmann.

Found this over on the swittersb site. Original used the ribbing material for the butt which looked kinda meh so I swapped out for the tinsel. Mallard, pintail, widgeon etc could be used for the wing, too.
